For the band's second and third records, the line-up expanded to seven players, including Becky, Ian, Scott and Jessica, and the band re-named as The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-la-la Band With Choir. An impressive feature is the use of the string section as a fully integral part of the band, rather than the more tacked-on affairs that turn perfectly good songs into power ballads. The two violinists, cellist and double bassist added a dimension to the sound that could in no way be created by traditional rock instruments, and their usage in the bands sound is inventive, fascinating and above all a real joy to watch and listen to.
